Wellcome Genome Campus and Nuffield Health partner to create new health and fitness club as part of major Campus expansion
People living and working around the Wellcome Genome Campus in Hinxton will benefit from a new health and fitness club, delivered in partnership with Nuffield Health.
The new club, set to open in 2028, will provide a space for both the growing Campus community and people across the wider local area, offering a wide range of health, sport, fitness and wellbeing facilities in one place.
The partnership combines the Wellcome Genome Campus’ vision for an open, thriving destination with Nuffield Health’s expertise in preventative health, fitness and wellbeing.

Members of the club will have access to a four-lane, 25-metre swimming pool, a state-of-the-art gym, climbing and bouldering facilities, a dedicated indoor cycle studio, padel courts, specialist Pilates and Reformer Pilates studios, a large multi-purpose studio for classes and a broad programme of group exercise classes.
Alongside its fitness offering, the facility will also provide recovery, rehabilitation and preventative healthcare services. A large spa pool, cold plunge pool, steam room and sauna. These facilities will complement health screenings, GP services and physiotherapy, with access to onward referrals to the Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital for diagnostics and surgical procedures where required.
The health and fitness club will form an important part of the first phase of the Wellcome Genome Campus expansion, set to be complete in 2028. This will include the first new lab-enabled workspace called The Sequence, 84 homes, and new food and drink venues. Together, these elements will create a vibrant destination where people can work, live, collaborate and spend time.
As the Campus grows into one of Europe’s leading destinations for genomics, biodata, health data and AI-driven health and care translation, investment in health and wellbeing will help create a thriving environment for researchers, businesses, future residents, visitors and the wider community.
